Primary Purpose:
Assist the Federal Programs Director in maintaining and managing budgets, placing and processing purchase orders, and maintaining compliance documentation for each of the federal programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Effective organizational, file maintenance, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Minimum Experience:
One to three years of secretarial experience, preferably in public education environment
One to three years accounting or bookkeeping experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
1. Place and receive telephone calls and emails regarding assigned federal programs.
- Perform varied word processing skills in the preparation of correspondence, forms, reports, applications, etc.
- Prepare and process purchase orders for each program.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date balances for each program and budget.
- Maintain complete and systemic records of programs’ financial transactions providing accurate and up to date balances for each program and budget.
- Maintain a filing system for each assigned program.
- Serve as a liaison between the LEA and private non-profit schools.
- Assist curriculum specialists with Title I, II and III professional development activities as needed.
- Ensures confidentiality when required.
