Primary Purpose:
Support Special Education office by maintaining PEIMS data, special education electronic data management system data, and Medicaid (MACM) and School Health and Related Services (SHARS) reimbursement program for the district for compliance of state mandates and generation of funds. Assist in maintaining Special Education resources (SERS) inventory.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Basic math skills
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
Ability to complete data sheets and applications
Ability to work well with co-workers
Ability to develop spreadsheets and databases systems and/or clerical aide experience.
Experience:
Two years with electronic database systems and/or clerical aide experience.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
SEMS duties: Responsible for maintaining accurate records in the computer management system for special education student data for the purpose of generating funds and ensuring appropriate service delivery. This includes running periodic reports and making corrections in the PEIMS data files by:
- Obtaining data from assessment staff.
- Verifying data with assessment staff and/or campus personnel
- Enter new data into system
- Running reports and checking information for accuracy.
- Routinely updating files
- Providing information of all required reports
- Generating and verifying Federal Data Reports.
Medicaid duties: Responsible for data system to file claims for reimbursement of funds for eligible students receiving medicaid billable services by:
- Researching records to establish eligibility
- Obtaining and verifying Medicaid numbers
- Obtaining service information from assessment staff and service providers
- Entering data
- Transmitting information
- Receiving reports, and updating files
- Maintaining files and records of all transactions.
- Monitoring generation of Medicaid funds.
SERS duties: Maintain special education library and receive materials. Keep record of inventory.
- Shelve incoming books, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare an annual inventory of books and materials in the SERS parent library.
- Prepare an annual inventory of SERS materials on campuses.
- Maintain physical and computerized files for inventory.
- Assist with administrative records and preparing required reports.

None.
