New Braunfels ISD is looking for Substitute Teachers that can commit to working at least 15 full day assigments per school year.  We keep the New Braunfels ISD's Substitute List shorter than other districts because we would like to give our Substitutes the opportunity to work on a consistent basis.  Mondays and Fridays are frequently needed, throughout our district.  So, we ask that you only apply, if you are availbalbe to work these days.

Requirements (no exceptions):

• Fingerprinting  
• 48+ semester hours of college (original transcript will be required at orientation)
• Completion of State required, online compliance courses
• Attendance at Substitute Orientation
• Ability to Substitute Teach at least 15 days per school year including but not limited to, Fridays and Mondays

Process:

Fingerprinting:  Required through TX DPS for a fee of approximately $50.00 prior to being invited to Substitute Orientation (only if you are not already in the FACT Clearinghouse) .  Once you have completed your application and if you meet the minimum qualifications, a FAST Pass will be e-mailed to you explaining how to schedule your appointment for fingerprinting. 

Once the Human Resources Department receives your fingerprinting results, you will be contacted and scheduled for Substitute Orientation.

Substitute Pay Information:

Professional Jobs:

$85*/day - regular job

$100*/day - long term assignment over 20 days (sub must be a certified teacher)

$200*/day - unfilled position (sub must be a certified teacher)

*half day assignments are paid half of the daily rate

Paraprofessional Position:

$85*/day - regular job

*half day assignments are paid half of the daily rate
