Description

Primary Purpose:

 

To analyze payroll related activities of the district to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  1. Compile and prepare required TRS reporting monthly.
  2. Monitor and log status changes daily as employee situations regarding TRS occur.
  3. Monitor data quarterly to prepare and submit annual School Health and Related Services (SHARS) Certification of Funds Report.
  4. Work under supervision to assist preparing payroll for the district.
  5. Assist with completion and submission of state and federal payroll reporting requirements.
  6. Attend training sessions, conferences, workshops and webinars to further job knowledge and skills.
  7. Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

General Qualification Guidelines:

 

Education/Certification/ Experience:

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Experience in payroll/accounting

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of local, state and federal requirements relating to payroll issues and reports, basic accounting principles
  2. Keyboarding, file maintenance and use of general office equipment, 10 key by touch.
  3. Maintain accurate and auditable records
  4. Work with numbers in accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines
  5. Skilled in communications, organization and analytical skills.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, use a computer and software to create spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of information.

  1. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  2. Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse.
  3. Occasional light lifting and carrying, (less than 15 pounds).
  4. Frequently communicates with other employees or public. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
  5. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, twisting
  6. Work with frequent interruptions.
  7. Maintain emotional control under stress.
