Primary Purpose:

Provide support for both internal and external multimedia needs of the district and campuses with a focus on video content, graphic design, photography, web content and district publications. Assist department with written materials for district publications, event planning and social media.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital journalism, radio-television-film or related discipline preferred

 

Experience:

Three to five years of professional video production and graphic design experience preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven experience in video and graphic design productions; examples of projects required for interview
  • Strong writing, editing and research skills
  • Script writing and storyboarding skills
  • Web video production and posting
  • Strong knowledge of digital photography
  • Working knowledge and experience with various computer programs including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Constant Contact
  • Extensive knowledge of video editing software
  • Working knowledge of content management systems utilized to manage and create websites
  • Experience in Web content delivery solutions including RSS and video streaming
  • Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to also work within a team
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, including the general public

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Implement and support district-level videography efforts from conception to completion, including all necessary scripting, filming, content and overall creative design
  • Produce and disseminate multimedia content for publicity, including videos, photography, social media, and website content
  • Assist with writing and editing copy for district publications produced by the Communication Department
  • Create and review metrics to monitor and analyze website traffic statistics for periodic reporting and review of content effectiveness.
  • Maintains and updates content on district website and campus websites 
  • Manage video production at various sporting and special events
  • Participate in event planning and community activities that are the responsibility of the Communications Department and Superintendent’s Office
  • Take photographs for district publications, presentations, and displays
  • Available via telephone or email as needed to ensure district and campus websites contain accurate emergency information, including monitoring of the District’s website and social media accounts during an emergency.
  • Remain current regarding trends, new technologies and software for video production and distribution
  • Work flexible hours; evening and/or weekend work required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

None

 

Equipment Used

Computer; digital camera; video camera; copier; and scanner.

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions; repetitive hand motions; ability to carry 25 lbs in some cases; prolonged use of computer; travel district wide frequently; and work occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
